Climate Changemakers
Overview
Children's Parliament is Scotland's centre of excellence for children's participation and rights. Ahead of COP26, they needed to ensure that children's voices were included in the national climate conversation — not as an afterthought, but as serious contributors to policy and decision-making.
We partnered with them on two key initiatives: supporting the Scotland Climate Assembly and establishing the Climate Changemakers campaign. Both projects aimed to amplify the voices of young individuals across the nation and ensure that their perspectives were communicated to national leaders before COP26 in Glasgow.

Solution
We co-created a digital-first campaign to gather children's views and channel them directly to the Scottish Government. We created a comprehensive classroom activity toolkit for Scotland's Climate Assembly, which includes maps, animal cards, and teacher guides. This toolkit is designed to help children understand climate challenges and develop their own Calls to Action. We supported the recruitment of ten “champion schools” and helped gather data from over 100 children across Scotland. The result was a 41-point report that fed directly into the Assembly's findings.
We built the brand identity for Climate Changemakers, designed campaign materials, and developed an online platform where children could write and send postcards to decision-makers. Our approach made climate action personal, empowering kids to share their hopes, fears, and solutions — all rooted in children's rights.

Results
- 100+ children directly contributed to Scotland's Climate Assembly
- 41 Calls to Action included in the final Assembly report to the Scottish Government
- Climate Changemakers campaign used in 200+ schools across Scotland
- Children's voices featured in official COP26 programming and Scottish Government responses
- The campaign received national press coverage and praise from ministers, teachers, and children
